Torchwood
Torchwood - About Torchwood

The History of Torchwood

The original Torchwood Institute was founded in 1879 by Queen Victoria, to defend the British Empire against the threats posed to it by alien forces.

Torchwood One

Torchwood One was the main Torchwood based in London. In 2007 it was destroyed in the battle of Canary Wharf.

Canary Wharf was built for Torchwood One so that they could reach a rift that led to another universe. This is how the Cybermen and Daleks got through eventually destroying Torchwood One.

With most of the staff dead and the rift gone there was no need to rebuild it.

Torchwood Two

Very Little is known about Torchwood Two except that it is in Glasgow and is run by a 'very strange man'

Torchwood Three

Torchwood Three is based in Cardiff, a city located along the rift. The rift brings in all sorts of alien creatures and alien technology and occasionally things from the past and the future.

Notes: The rift dates back to 1869 ( Doctor Who the Unquiet Dead). The Doctor sometimes stops along the rift because it recharges the Tardis.

Torchwood Four

Nothing is known about Torchwood Four except that it is currently missing
