These Cybermen had been involved in a long and costly was against the Vogans which could be the reason as to why they hadn’t seemed to have evolved much further.
It was these Cybermen that were first shown to have a weakness against gold as it chokes their respiratory systems.
These Cybermen only appeared in the 1975 story Revenge of the Cybermen.
