Doctor Who The Mazes of Time is a game available on any iOS device which includes the iPod, iPhone, or iPad. The Game was released 16th December 2010 with further updates expected early 2011. This page may include spoilers.
The Doctor and Amy respond to an SOS sent out by the Jones family. Their spaceship contains a Time Engine that the Daleks are after. When the Doctor and Amy enter the engine room they discover a Dalek Scientist.
There is an explosion in the engine room that scatters the Jones family across space and time. It’s up to you to try and return them back to the spaceship safely and stop the Daleks from completing their mission.
You can see from the screenshots that the graphics are stunning. The game feels more challenging that previous Doctor Who games as you have to work out a lot of things for yourself. In some cases it can be tricky to avoid the monsters without getting caught.

Scene Seven: Doctor Who game play, The Mazes of TimeThe way you can control both the characters makes the game a lot more fun and interesting, you’d think that having two characters would make the game easier but in some cases not, for example if the Doctor steps on an electric field you have to make sure Amy isn’t in the way otherwise its game over!
Having control of both the Doctor and Amy is more true to the theme of Doctor Who, the Doctor has always had someone there to help him, even in the series four specials. Both characters have unique features, the Doctor can climb and push objects whereas Amy can crawl under objects and walk over thin ground. In some cases they have to split up and help each other because there are different obstacles blocking their paths.
The sonic screwdriver rarely comes into play which is a welcomed change as you have to physically work out things for yourselves.

Doctor Who The Mazes of Time, Game Over!The main highlights include battling the Cybermen and Daleks but this game also includes the Silurians another popular monster that featured in Series 5 of Doctor Who. Whilst trying to stop the Cybermen you get to visit the Cyber tombs on Telos.

The Mazes of Time should be available for Android devices early 2011. More monsters and scenes are also expected early 2011.
