This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who. The first episode aired Saturday 23rd November 1963 at 5.15pm. In 2005 after after a 16 year absence from the BBC, Doctor Who was relaunched and became an instant success with over 10 million people watching the first episode.

The new Doctor Who companion is Clara Oswin Oswald (Jenna-Louise Coleman). She remains a mystery appearing in three different time zones, she died in two of them but she is the same person.

Amy and Rory left in episode 5 where they faced the Weeping Angels for the last time. Jenna-Louise Coleman’s character was introduced in Asylum of the Daleks (although we didn’t know this at the time). The new companions name was revealed in The Snowmen as Clara Oswin Oswald.
